Sheffield Forgemasters Appoint VINCI Building as Forge Construction Delivery Partner
Sheffield Forgemasters has awarded a £138 million contract to VINCI Building to support the construction of a 13,800 sqm open-die forging facility at its Sheffield site, marking a major step in the company’s substantial recapitalisation programme.
VINCI Building will deliver the project’s foundations, a 40-metre-high superstructure, and building service solutions, working alongside subcontractors and supply chain partners to transform the site into a world-leading manufacturing hub.

Forging the Future of UK Defence and Civil Manufacturing
The new forging line will support both defence and commercial sectors, including civil nuclear power, and will create a new generation of engineers and designers trained in Industry 4.0 technologies.
The forging facility will be complemented by a proposed new machining facility, featuring some of the world’s largest and most advanced five-axis Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs), helping establish Sheffield Forgemasters as a global leader in high-specification large-scale manufacturing.
