Hitachi High-Tech Analytical Science Ltd
About us
Today’s metals analyzers make it easy to implement quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) programs. Hitachi’s range of analyzers support the end-to-end metals production process from incoming inspection to final product assembly and finished goods testing to ensure product reliability, safety and regulatory compliance.
Complex supply chains, more stringent regulations and increased use of scrap metal means today’s best practices include a robust QA & QC program that centers around 100% PMI (positive material identification) testing of critical materials. This is especially the case in high-technology markets, such as aerospace, automotive and pharmaceutical, where material mix-ups and wrongly graded metals can damage reputations, cost money and cause injury.
Today’s analysis technology makes it possible to verify the grade and elemental composition of materials at every stage, with reliable and accurate analytical performance results delivered in seconds.
Hitachi offers a toolbox of metals analyzers to ensure you have the right tool for the job at every point of your metals production. Choose from OES technology for low-detection limits for precise material chemistry, XRF for non-destructive testing (NDT) of finished products or LIBS for 1-second grade verification of incoming alloys. Portable, handheld and benchtop instruments are available to make analysis fast and simple even when dealing with large and complex components. Advanced technology within a robust exterior, coupled with intuitive software, makes the Hitachi range of metals analyzers ideal for the precise analysis needed in critical manufacturing operations.

OE750 Optical Emissions Spectrometer
The OE750 and OE720 are groundbreaking OES metal analysers, offering comprehensive elemental coverage across the full spectrum of metals, with low detection limits and advanced multi-CMOS technology. With increasingly stringent industry regulations, complex supply chains, and a growing reliance on scrap as a base material, it has become essential for foundries and metal manufacturers to monitor main, residual, tramp, and trace elements down to the lowest parts-per-million levels. Traditionally, achieving this level of optical emission spectrometry (OES) analysis was beyond the reach of many businesses. The OE series has now changed that. These spark spectrometers enable the analysis of all key alloying elements and the detection of exceptionally low levels of tramp, trace, and treatment elements in metals — including nitrogen in steel. The OE750 also supports more specialised applications, such as measuring oxygen in copper and oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen in titanium. With rapid measurement times, exceptional reliability, and low running costs, the OE series is an invaluable solution for routine analysis and comprehensive quality control — delivering performance comparable to that of significantly larger and more costly spectrometers.

FOUNDRY-MASTER Smart Optical Emission Spectrometer
The FOUNDRY-MASTER Smart is the ideal solution for the metal production and processing industries, delivering reliable, cost-effective analysis. This next-generation optical emission spectrometer combines high analytical performance with an exceptionally compact design. Featuring a spark spectrometer with rapid start-up and short measurement times, it enables the identification of duplex steels through nitrogen analysis. Its uniquely designed spark stand is accessible from three sides, ensuring ease of use and maximum flexibility.

X-MET8000 Handheld XRF analyser
The X-MET8000 series of handheld X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysers delivers the high performance required for fast alloy grade identification and precise chemical analysis across a wide range of materials — including solid and powdered metals, polymers, wood, liquids, soil, ores, and minerals. Practical, robust, and easy to operate, the X-MET handheld XRF analyser (HHXRF) provides reliable results you can trust. We offer a comprehensive range of handheld XRF models to meet diverse testing and analytical requirements, catering to a variety of applications and budgets.

Vulcan+ Handheld LIBS analyser
Vulcan is a handheld LIBS (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) analyser that enables rapid metal analysis. Simply squeeze the trigger, and results are displayed in just one second. As it utilises LIBS technology, there are no X-rays to worry about. Whether your focus is scrap sorting or PMI quality control, the Vulcan metal spectrometer provides accurate and consistent grade identification every time.

PMI-MASTER Pro2 Mobile Optical Emission Spectrometer
If you’re trying to prevent grade mix-ups of incoming and outgoing materials, conduct material verification and quality control, or maximise profits in a scrapyard then this oe spectrometer is the solution for you. With the mobile spark spectrometer PMI-MASTER Pro2, you’ll have confidence that you’re getting the analytical performance you need to make the right decisions. Reliable C analysis: Accurate carbon analysis from L grade stainless steels to low alloy and carbon steels. Ready to go: Short warm-up time means you’re up and running in no time Low argon consumption: Concentric electrode shielding argon flow technology reduces air gaps and optimizes gas flow. Universal adaptors: Rubber seal for concave and convex surfaces allows analysis of almost any sample.

PMI-MASTER Smart Portable Optical Emission Spectrometer
