Materials Processing Institute

The Materials Processing Institute supports innovation for a sustainable future through materials development and process improvements, delivered by project teams utilising state-of-the-art equipment, laboratories, workshops, demonstration, scale-up and production facilities.

Research, development, and innovation is focused on advancing materials performance, achieving industrial decarbonisation through a low carbon future, deploying new digital technologies, and reducing waste and reusing materials through a circular economy.

The Materials Processing Institute is leading innovation support for the steel and metals sector and managing the PRISM Innovate UK programme to support innovation.

Through PRISM, steel and metals sector companies can access funding to support innovation in:
Decarbonisation
Digital Technologies
Circular Economy
If you call by our stand (F30), we can explain how we can support your organisation to fast track innovations and new technologies and access this funded support.

The Materials Processing Institute is a globally recognised research, development and innovation centre for the commercialisation of technology.

Research and Development is focussed on innovation in:

Advanced materials
Achieving industrial decarbonisation through a low carbon and hydrogen future
Deploying new digital technologies
Reducing waste through a circular economy
The Institute provides a range of technology and R&D based services and consultancy. Scientists and engineers apply their expertise to progress innovation, develop materials, improve products and processes and commercialise technologies. Expertise extends to experimental and computer modelling, thermodynamics, instrumentation and control, materials microscopy, high temperature materials, chemical analysis, and digital technologies integration.

The Materials Processing Institute has also joined with global leaders in innovation, research, and technology from across the metal, cement, glass, ceramic, paper, polymer and chemical industries to form the Foundation Industries Sustainability Consortium (FISC) to transform these essential industries.

A visit to our stand could save you thousands of pounds. Come and see us at the UK Metals Expo.
