Established in 1979 and based in Sheffield, the UK’s Steel City, MEPS has a team of steel industry experts who leverage long-established relationships with steel market participants to produce accurate steel price intelligence. For many steel products Turkey will be the main origin of EU steel imports seeking access to the new Steel Regulation’s tariff-rate quota (TRQ) “overflow” facility for countries that hold a free trade agreement (FTA) with the bloc.

South Korea seeks to replace lost EU steel trade
South Korea’s government will aim to stimulate domestic steel demand by 510,000 tonnes per year to fill the gap left by EU cuts to the country’s tariff-free import quotas.
