About us
Wedge Group Galvanizing is the UK’s largest hot dip galvanizing organisation, providing high-quality, long-lasting corrosion protection for steel through a nationwide network of 15 strategically located plants.
With more than 155 years of galvanizing expertise, we combine extensive technical knowledge with the scale, capability and flexibility to support projects of virtually every size. From small components and threaded products through to structural steel up to 29 metres in length, our facilities enable us to meet the needs of customers across construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, rail, power, energy, agriculture and many other sectors.

Hot dip galvanizing provides a tough, durable and metallurgically bonded coating that protects steel against corrosion. With a service life that can exceed 70 years in many environments, galvanizing can significantly reduce the need for ongoing maintenance, repainting and replacement – helping to lower whole-life costs while extending the useful life of steel.
Sustainability is also central to how we operate. Across our plants, we continue to invest in technologies and initiatives designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, conserve resources and lower the environmental impact of our operations. This includes initiatives such as Smart Firing Technology, rainwater harvesting, low-fume flux technology, electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, and the introduction of HVO fuel.

Hot Dip Galvanizing
Hot dip galvanizing has, for many decades, been widely recognised – as well as proven – to be the most effective and reliable way to protect steel from corrosion, providing robust steel corrosion protection in a variety of industries and outdoor environments. Steel galvanized through this method is shielded by a durable zinc coating that extends it’s lifespan significantly.
Galvacoat
Galvacoat® is a one-coat solution when colour needs to be added to galvanized steel, either to complement existing branding or create a bigger visual impact. It is a tough, single application polyurethane topcoat that’s specifically formulated to adhere perfectly to Hot Dip Galvanized steel.
