IGNITE First Feasibility Study Call

Financing Steel Circularity & Servitisation

The IGNITE Sustainable Steel Manufacturing Hub is offering funding for up to three Feasibility Studies to conduct novel research as part of the Hub, on the topic of "Financing Steel Circularity & Servitisation".

The IGNITE Sustainable Steel Manufacturing Research Hub is inviting applications for its first Feasibility Study Call, designed to support innovative, early-stage research aligned with the Hub’s overall aims.

Feasibility Studies are the primary mechanism through which IGNITE will introduce new academic collaborators and develop original research ideas, helping to expand the Hub’s activities through additional research spokes.

This first call is open to new UK academic collaborators who are eligible to receive EPSRC funding. Full eligibility criteria is available on our website. The scope of the first call will be focussed on Financing Steel Circularity & Servitisation.

We expect to fund up to three Feasibility Studies in this call, with up to £55,000 provided per project (representing 80% of the full project cost; applicants must ensure that their institutions cover the remaining 20%).

Applications for this call will be accepted until 09:00 on Monday 9th November 2026.

More information about the scope and eligibility criteria can be found on our website.
