In addition to our world leading fundamental research and collaborative R&D, BCAST offers support to industry through paid technical services that take advantage of our more than 4,000 m2 of laboratory/workshop space on the Brunel University London campus, close to Heathrow Airport. This includes our multi-million pound scale-up facilities; the Advanced Metals Casting Centre (AMCC) and the Advanced Metal Processing Centre (AMPC). Our brand new Future Metallurgy Centre houses state-of-the-art advanced microscopy and characterisation instruments. These facilities, together with our extensive metallurgical expertise, constitute a unique world class facility allowing us to address the full innovation value chain spanning discovery, understanding, adaption/integration, validation and deployment. This results in significant time and cost reduction for commercialisation and development of innovative alloys, processing technologies and cast components.
