UK Metals Expo, organised by Easyfairs, is proud to sponsor the Comton Cup 2026, taking place on Sunday 28 June 2026 at StarCity, Birmingham.
The sponsorship reflects UK Metals Expo’s commitment to supporting the metals community beyond the event itself, helping to bring people together through shared industry experiences in the lead-up to UK Metals Expo 2026, which takes place on 4–5 November 2026 at the NEC, Birmingham.
Positioned as the home of the UK metals supply chain, UK Metals Expo is the only UK event dedicated to bringing together the full metals supply chain in one place, from raw materials and processing through to fabrication, finishing, recycling and reuse [page 1]. Supporting a community-led initiative such as the Comton Cup is a natural extension of that purpose, creating another opportunity to engage with the people and businesses that keep the sector moving.
The Comton Cup is a well-established football event for companies and organisations across the metals and engineering sectors, combining competition, networking and community in an informal setting. Taking place in Birmingham, the event offers teams a minimum of seven matches and the chance to spend time with colleagues, customers and industry peers outside the usual work environment.
For UK Metals Expo, involvement in the Comton Cup is about more than visibility. It is about showing up for the industry, staying close to the community, and building stronger sector connections throughout the year.
Simon Farnfield, Event Director for UK Metals Expo, Advanced Engineering and Southern Manufacturing & Electronics at Easyfairs, said:
“UK Metals Expo is about much more than what happens on 4–5 November. It’s about supporting and connecting the metals community throughout the year. Sponsoring the Comton Cup 2026 is a great example of that in action. It gives us the chance to support a well-regarded industry initiative, spend time with the community in a different setting, and continue building momentum towards UK Metals Expo 2026.”
Peter Comerford, Director at Comton Group, said:
“The Comton Cup is all about bringing the metals and engineering sectors together in a way that is engaging, informal and community-focused. We are delighted to have the support of UK Metals Expo and Easyfairs for the 2026 event. Their involvement reflects a genuine commitment to the sector and helps us continue growing an event that people across the industry really value.”
On 4-5 November, UK Metals Expo 2026 will once again bring together producers, stockholders, processors, fabricators, recyclers, OEMs, engineers, buyers and decision-makers from across the market. Co-located with Advanced Engineering and Lab Innovations, it forms part of one of the UK’s strongest industrial gatherings under one roof.
As momentum builds towards the 2026 edition, the Comton Cup sponsorship forms part of a wider commitment to keeping UK Metals Expo at the heart of the conversations, relationships and communities that matter most to the industry.
