      Alloy A286 Round Bars (660B/D)

Alloy A286 is a precipitation hardenable iron-based super alloy with additions of molybdenum and titanium nickel-chromium. Nickel and chromium additions provide excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance up to 704°C for long term service, up to 816°C for short term service (which is similar to that of 310 stainless) and up to 982°C for intermittent service. Alloy A286 can also be used in low temperature applications that require a ductile, non-magnetic, high strength material at temperatures above room temperature and down to minus 196°C. The chromium, nickel and molybdenum contents are similar to those of some austenitic stainless steels, making its aqueous corrosion resistance comparable to that of 316L austenitic stainless steel. Alloy A286 has excellent fabrication characteristics comparable to austenitic stainless steels and is readily fabricated by standard procedures. Industry Standards Include: ASTM A453/A453M - 16 Gr 660 Classes B & D ASTM A638/A638M – 10 Gr 660 Type 2 NACE MR0175/ISO15156 Werkstoff Nr 1.4980 UNS S66286 AMS 5732

      Alloy Development

Using a suite of state-of-the-art equipment our expert team can assist in the development of novel alloys for industrial application as port of our vertically integrated factory within the Advanced Metals Processing theme. Our unique capabilities, split across the Royce Discovery and Translational Centres, enable the end-to-end creation of new alloys, from concept to industry-ready scale-up. The Materials Discovery and Prototyping platform provides critical melting equipment, like Vacuum Induction Melting and Arc Melting, to precisely control the composition of novel metallic systems. This initial production is seamlessly linked to Thermomechanical Processing, which uses machines like the Hot Rolling Mill to shape and refine the alloy microstructure, simulating industrial manufacture. By bridging the gap between small-scale lab research and industrial application, Royce Sheffield is accelerating the deployment of next-generation alloys crucial for sectors like aerospace, nuclear, and automotive. The focus on resource-efficient and high-performance alloys supports global challenges in the transition to net-zero and a circular economy. 3. Alloy K500 Round Bars

      Alloy K500 Round Bars

Alloy K500 is a nickel-copper alloy which combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Alloy 400 with higher strength and hardness obtained through the addition of aluminium and titanium to the nickel- copper base. It has excellent low temperature properties with tensile and yield strengths increasing with decrease in temperature, while ductility and toughness are virtually unimpaired. There is no ductileto-brittle transformation even at temperatures as low as liquid hydrogen, making it suitable for cryogenic applications. The corrosion resistance of Alloy K500 is equivalent to that of Alloy 400 except that in the aged condition, it has a greater tendency towards stress-corrosion cracking in some environments. It is resistant to a sour gas environment and has very low corrosion rates in high velocity seawater, making it ideal for marine applications. Industry Standards Include: ASTM B865 BS 3076 NA18 1989 UNS N05500 NACE MR0175/ISO15156 (Hot worked only) Werkstoff Nr. 2.4375

    4. Aluminised Clothing

      Aluminised Clothing

In order to ensure optimal protection and meet normative requirements, EDC Protection's aluminised garments and personal protective equipment are manufactured with innovative components in our French facility in Noviant-aux-Prés. A thin layer of Aluminium foil to reflect infra-red radiation and therefore reflect radiant heat away from the wearer. It also prevents the adhesion of splashes of molten metal, which roll down the garments and fall onto the ground, Secondly, an aluminium foil backing with varying composition and texture offers the possibility of aluminised PPE with varying levels of performance: insulating properties, splash resistance, comfort, etc., An inside lining, in most cases, which provides double thermal insulation with an air cushion created with the aluminised fabric. To design and manufacture aluminised garments that are best suited to the workstations of wearers and the constraints of their jobs, EDC Protection makes its garments and PPE In various aluminised materials.
