The UK positively excels in materials science and innovation, and is recognised as a global “go-to” resource in developing value adding technologies for the metals sector. However; there is often a different perception when we consider how to effectively apply such innovation to generate commercial advantage, business opportunity and growth – here on our own doorstep in UK metal industries.

Whilst our sector may be smaller than 30 years ago, it is critical to our economy and brimming with some world beating specialisms and niche USPs that we don’t always fully appreciate or leverage as a nation.

This panel session invites you to a snapshot of some game changing technologies which can deliver added functionality, adaptability, and unique properties to metals, offering significant technical and commercial advantage, higher margins and greater opportunities in new and existing markets.

Case studies will be given that will interest you, either as a producer or end user.

Our panel includes Government speakers and Industrial leaders, with technical content from TWI and other technology providers. We will also briefly identify training and certification implications and highlight potential funding and other support that the UK Metals sector could exploit through clever technology collaboration.
