Sound Damped Steel & Aluminium Sheet is a specialist laminated metal designed to reduce vibration and radiated noise at source.

A thin viscoelastic damping layer is bonded between two metal sheets, creating a highly damped panel that retains the strength, durability and practicality of conventional metal. The outer sheets can be produced in steel, stainless steel, galvanised steel or aluminium, with each metal layer typically ranging from 0.5 mm to 4 mm thick around a 90-micron damping layer.

The material is suitable for a wide range of OEM and industrial applications, including machine guards, hoppers, covers, enclosures, panels and fabricated components. It can be cut, formed, drilled and fabricated using many conventional metalworking methods.

By controlling vibration within the panel itself, SDS damped sheet helps prevent the ringing and resonant noise associated with conventional sheet metal.
