Dave Taylor is the Business Development Manager for the Colorcoat® pre-finished steel brand at Tata Steel, based at the company’s Shotton site in North Wales. With a background as a Quantity Surveyor in both national housebuilding and industrial cladding, Dave brings a wealth of practical and commercial experience to his current role in the Building Envelope sector.
At Tata Steel, Dave works across the full construction value chain—from Architects, Engineers and Contractors, to Developers and Clients—ensuring that Colorcoat® products meet both technical and sustainability demands, and providing practical guidance and insight into steel solutions that address those specific requirements in the built environment.
Dave is also qualified in low carbon steel manufacturing, with a particular focus on the future of low-carbon construction. His presentation, “Lowering Embodied Carbon in Steel Intensive Buildings,” will explore innovative approaches and practical strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of buildings that rely heavily on steel. Expect to hear about material selection, design optimisation, and commitments and technologies using Colorcoat® products aimed at delivering more sustainable outcomes in the construction industry.
