Catryn Newton is the Community Benefit Director for Bute Energy. She joined Bute in September 2022 from the Charity Sector, after establishing the Welsh arm of the charity School of Hard Knocks. Prior to this, Catryn developed social regeneration programmes for social housing providers with communities across South Wales.
After being ‘on the other side’ of community investment for over 15 years, Catryn is committed to bringing a community led approach to social investment focussing on creating legacy and tackling some of societies biggest challenges. The Bute Energy Strategy combines in depth social mapping and a whole systems approach to developing hyper local investment priorities to help focus the community benefits fund, social value through its contracts and to create an accessible green skills strategy.
